The influence of digital media on social issues in Palestine

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the impact of digital media on social issues in Palestine. The analytical descriptive approach was adopted, and the study sample consisted of (393) digital media users in Palestine, and the questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. The most important results of the study were the following: The most used digital media is Facebook. Written conversation is the most popular way to communicate with digital media friends. The most common areas of follow-up to digital media are the social field and the political field.

Most of the social issues dealt with by digital media are the basic needs of the citizen, and poverty. The most supportive means of digital media to influence social issues are the family and educational institutions. The study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are the following: Paying attention to raising social issues of concern to citizens through digital media, in order to communicate them to those concerned. Paying attention to the role of the family and educational institutions in preserving their children from the negative aspects of using digital media.
