The role of "Facebook" in imparting and creating preventive awareness against the Corona Pandemic At the University of Mouloud Mammeri - Tizi Ouzou - Algeria

Abstract

Based on previous Arab and foreign studies that dealt with the topic of “the role of social media in promoting preventive and health knowledge during the Corona pandemic, this study came to clarify the positive role played by "Facebook" network or "Blue Space" as a common model among these means in Instilling preventive awareness to confront the spread of "Covid 19" virus in the light of some individual variables (gender, age, scientific specialization), among a sample of (100) male and female students studying at the University of Mouloud Mammeri in Tizi Ouzou - Algeria.

This field study revealed the following results:

1. "Facebook" provides specific information on the developments of the Corona pandemic compared to the rest of the traditional media, from the point of view of the students of Mouloud Mammeri University in Tizi Ouzou.
2. Facebook is more interested in explaining how the Coronavirus spreads than other social media.
3. Face book plays a positive role in developing and increasing preventive awareness against the Corona pandemic among students of the University of Mouloud Mammeri in Tizi Ouzou.
4. There are significant differences between the answers of Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi Ouzou students about the role of "Facebook" in  eveloping and instilling preventive awareness against the Corona pandemic in them attributed to the variable (gender).
5. There are no significant differences between the answers of Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi Ouzou students about the role of "Facebook" in eveloping and instilling preventive awareness against the Corona pandemic in them, which are attributed to the variable (scientific specialization).
