The Creative Vision of the Drama Director in Drawing with Light

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the drama director's vision of the process of drawing light in film and television dramas. To find out how ‘light’ affects the film and its quality, the interests of the audience, time, the viewers' attention to the sites of events, etc. Therefore, to identify the difference in the level of creative directors' skills according to these variables such as age, gender, qualification, experience, and artistic work. A sample of 300 professionals was selected from specialists in lighting and directors interested in drama and photographers, architects, designers, and graphic designers to analyze the results. The study yielded results that not to rely entirely on light, especially in the dramatic work on the lighting technician only, but through the director's vision. Since he/she is the only one who has a full conception of implementing the dramatic work and how to deal with it. The best use and dramatic use of the film is to increase its poetic and aesthetic aspects.
